Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 cup beef broth

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for another 5 minutes until the onion is translucent.

Stir in the smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper, mixing well to combine the flavors. Remove from heat.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced potatoes and beef mixture. Toss until the potatoes are well coated with the beef and spices.

Layer half of the potato-beef mixture in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread half of the sour cream over the mixture and top with half of the shredded cheese.

Pour half of the beef broth over the layered mixture.

Repeat with the remaining potato-beef mixture, sour cream, and cheese. Pour the remaining beef broth on top.

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.

Allow to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

                        Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes | Servings: 6
