1cupall-purpose flour
1teaspooncinnamon
0.5teaspoonnutmeg
1cupbreadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)
2largeeggs
2tablespoonsmilk
2tablespoonsbrown sugar
1pinchsalt
1spraycooking spray (for greasing)
Instructions
Prepare the Apples: Start by washing the apples thoroughly. Cut each apple into quarters, remove the core, and then slice them into fry-shaped pieces. Aim for even sizes for uniform cooking.
Create the Breading Station: In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined. Finally, place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
Coat the Apple Fries: Dip each apple fry first into the flour mixture, making sure it's coated evenly. Shake off any excess, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally roll it in breadcrumbs to coat thoroughly. Repeat until all apple fries are coated.
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your apple fries will cook evenly and become crispy.
Air Fry the Apple Fries: Arrange the coated apple fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. Lightly spray the fries with cooking spray for added crispiness.
Cooking Time: Air fry the apple fries for about 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking. They should be golden brown and crispy when done.
Serve: Once cooked, remove the fries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving them warm.
Notes
Serve with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.
